Beetroot Plants (Red Striped)

Love beetroot? You are going to love this variety of candy cane red striped beetroot. The Chioggia is an italian variety of beetroot that has red and white stripes running through the middle, and if picked at the right time is even tasty eaten straight up raw.

We love this variety for making all kinds of tasty meals including the delcious summer beet burgers.

We grow all of our beetroot in module sown clumps, this means each plant sold will include at least three beets within it. You pick the largest one, leaving the smaller ones in place, then do the same a couple of times until they are all picked. This allows a steady supply of these tasty beets.

All of our plants are provided in 9cm pots in Organically Certified Fertile Fibre soil. They were grown with 100% organic practices however are not certified by the Soil Association.

The compost we use is 100% Peat Free, this means they may need watering more often than plants in Peat Based Soils.
